The Coffee

We offer specialty coffee from our own fincas—Los Manantiales, Cielito Lindo, San Cayetano, El Naranjo, Tres Puertas, and El Retiro—all situated in the Apaneca-Ilamatepec region.

Alongside El Salvador’s emblematic Bourbon, Pacas, and Pacamara, we grow less common varieties such as Castillo, Sidra, and Ethiosar.

Locally, we supply roasteries and coffee shops; abroad, we export green coffee to the US, China, and the Czech Republic.

The Farms

All our coffee comes from our own farms, with a focus on specialty coffee varieties grown in the Apaneca-Ilamatepec Mountain Range. The farms cover a total of 62.5 hectares (89 manzanas).

Apaneca-Ilamatepec is the largest and most prominent of El Salvador’s six major coffee-growing regions and is known for high-quality beans cultivated on volcanic slopes. In the 2026 Cup of Excellence competition in El Salvador, 14 of the 29 winning lots came from this region.

We offer specialty coffee microlots with SCA scores of 85 and above, as well as larger lots for espresso typically scoring around 83.

Who We Are

Owner · General Manager

Guillermo belongs to the fourth generation of a coffee-farming family. He was born in New York but grew up on the farm of his grandfather, who owned 2,000 manzanas of coffee plantations with an annual output of 25,000 quintales of green coffee and founded the cooperative Cuzcachapa de R.L. Not wanting to carry on this volume-focused approach without questioning it, Guillermo left El Salvador after finishing high school and moved to the United States.

He studied automotive technology and worked as a Mercedes-Benz mechanic in California and Florida for 18 years. He interrupted his time in the United States for three years to live in San Salvador, where he cared for his severely ill aunt. During this period, he reconnected with the world of coffee by working for the Consejo del Café and by taking courses in barista skills, roasting, and cupping at the Instituto del Café de El Salvador. It was also during this time that he met his future wife.

After moving back to El Salvador with his family in 2023, Guillermo purchased two coffee farms, Los Manantiales and Cielito Lindo, in the Apaneca-Ilamatepec Mountain Range, north of Juayúa. Motivated by the desire to spend more time with his young children, he finally returned to his family roots and became a coffee farmer. In only three years, he has established himself as a well-known coffee producer in El Salvador and abroad. He now owns and operates six farms, including San Cayetano and El Naranjo near Apaneca, both of which formerly belonged to the Sicafe estate.

Export & Client Relations

Leo was born in the Black Forest in southern Germany, near the French and Swiss borders. After studying Physics and Philosophy, he began his professional career in 1999 at the global consulting firm McKinsey & Company. Over the past 25 years, he has gained extensive experience in software development, project management, and business consulting while living and working in Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt, Bonn, Brussels, and Berlin.

From 2023 to 2026, he lived in El Salvador, where he pursued his passion for coffee by participating in the year-long Coffee Farm Management Program at Escuela RENACER in Apaneca and Juayúa. He also completed barista training courses at the Instituto Salvadoreño del Café in Santa Tecla and worked at a coffee shop in San Salvador’s San Benito district to put his training into practice. In 2026, he joined forces with Guillermo, both motivated by the vision of combining the expertise of local coffee professionals with Leo’s international business experience and a shared focus on quality, efficiency, and traceability during the whole production and distribution process.

Now back on the road, Leo is bringing our specialty coffee from El Salvador to an even wider global client base, putting his fluency in five languages to good use. His primary focus is on developing the European and Asian markets, so keep an eye out for him at World of Coffee Tokyo in April and World of Coffee Lisbon in June next year. In the meantime, you might bump into him at a specialty coffee shop in Berlin, Madrid, or Prague.

Our Farm Team

Our fincas are managed and maintained by a permanent team of experienced and trusted farm workers who live on the properties and consider them their home. During the harvest season, our core team is joined by skilled coffee pickers, many of whom return to work with us year after year.

We are committed to providing fair working conditions and ensuring the well-being of everyone involved in our coffee production. Our farm workers receive wages above the legal minimum, and we respect regulated working hours, taking into account the physical demands of agricultural work. To minimize the need to carry heavy loads, we make extensive use of transportation and mechanical assistance throughout our farms, including an all-terrain vehicle and a recently installed rail-based goods elevator at Cielito Lindo, our steepest farm.

Our permanent team, including our rescue dog Zeus, is provided with housing on the farms. Given the remote location of our high-altitude fincas, we also arrange daily transportation in company-owned vehicles for seasonal workers who do not live on the properties, ensuring they can travel to and from work safely and comfortably.
